To think that last year we supported Node.js (and technically Python — hadn’t hit 1.0 just yet), and with February drawing to a close we are announcing full support for our third language with the release of the Java 1.0 agent! We’re so excited to bring IOpipe support to AWS Lambda functions running in Java.

Out of the box: Full Feature Parity

Perhaps the most exciting part of this announcement is the fact that the 1.0 java agent has full feature parity with the core agents for our other supported languages. The team worked very hard to make sure all our agents give the same level of insight to our users’ AWS Lambda functions.

Tracing

The Java agent does have one difference — tracing is part of the core IOpipe Java agent, and enabled by default! See exactly what your Java AWS Lambda functions are up to, and when, right away with tracing capability!

How to get started

Our Install Page has the full instructions on how to get the core IOpipe agent up and running, and tracing is enabled by default, with more usage details in our GitHub repo.

We’re so happy to hear your feedback as you get started using IOpipe with your Java AWS Lambda functions. If you’re new to IOpipe, you can sign up for a free trial today, and please reach for assistance and to offer feedback in our community slack.

Happy Monday!
